Bitcoin mining calculator
The calculator shows how much Bitcoin a mining device produces per day and whether it makes a profit after electricity. Network difficulty, block reward and the BTC price load automatically from live data; everything else you can change to match your setup.

How mining profit is calculated
The Bitcoin network finds one block every 10 minutes on average. Your share of blocks equals your share of the network's hashrate, which the calculator gets from difficulty:
BTC per day = hashrate × 86,400 × block reward ÷ (difficulty × 232)
- Hashrate in hashes per second: 1 TH/s is one trillion hashes.
- 86,400 seconds in a day.
- Block reward is 3.125 BTC since the April 2024 halving. Transaction fees add a little more; the calculator leaves them out, so the estimate is slightly conservative.
- Difficulty × 232 is the average number of hashes needed to find one block.
Then the pool fee and electricity are subtracted: power in kilowatts × 24 hours × price per kWh.
Popular ASIC miners and their efficiency
The key figure of an ASIC is efficiency: how many joules it uses per terahash. Lower is better.
| Model | Hashrate | Power | J/TH |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antminer S21 XP | 270 TH/s | 3,645 W | 13.5 |
| Antminer S21 Pro | 234 TH/s | 3,510 W | 15 |
| Antminer S21 | 200 TH/s | 3,500 W | 17.5 |
| Whatsminer M60S | 186 TH/s | 3,441 W | 18.5 |
| Antminer S19 XP | 141 TH/s | 3,010 W | 21.5 |
| Antminer S19j Pro | 104 TH/s | 3,068 W | 29.5 |
These are factory specs. Real hashrate depends on firmware, temperature and tuning.
What affects profit most
- Electricity price. The difference between 5 and 12 cents per kWh often decides whether there is any profit.
- Bitcoin price. Revenue moves with the market every day.
- Difficulty. It rises as more miners join and is recalculated about every two weeks, so the same device earns less over time.
- Halving. About every four years the block reward halves; the next one is expected in 2028.
- Downtime. The calculator assumes 24/7 operation. Overheating and repairs reduce the real number.
An estimate, not a promise
The result reflects today's numbers; tomorrow the price and difficulty change. Hardware cost, shipping, cooling, taxes and rent are not included. This is not financial advice: calculate payback with a safety margin and check local rules for mining before buying equipment. How mining works in general: what is crypto mining. For profit on buying and selling coins, use the crypto profit calculator.
To understand mining without spending anything, try TotalHash, a free mining game in Telegram: your phone computes the same SHA-256 and closed blocks pay the in-game token.
Quick answers
How much Bitcoin does a miner make per day?
It depends on hashrate and network difficulty. Enter your device in the calculator; a modern 200 TH/s ASIC produces a small fraction of one BTC per day.
How is mining profit calculated?
BTC per day equals hashrate times 86,400 times block reward divided by difficulty times 2 to the power of 32. Subtract the pool fee and electricity cost.
Is Bitcoin mining profitable at home?
Only with an efficient ASIC and cheap electricity. With a PC or a phone, electricity usually costs more than the mined coins are worth.
What is a good ASIC efficiency?
Current top models use about 13 to 18 joules per terahash. Older machines above 30 J/TH are rarely profitable.
