1 US dollar in PKR

Interbank, open market and P2P
Three dollar prices exist in Pakistan at the same time: the interbank rate banks use, the open market rate at exchange companies, and the P2P price of USDT. The converter uses a reference rate close to the interbank one. P2P prices are set by people: when demand for dollars rises, sellers charge more, and the USDT price can sit a few rupees above the open market.
Selling USDT for rupees
- Choose a large exchange with a P2P market that shows PKR ads with JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank transfer.
- Complete KYC with your CNIC. Verified buyers and sellers are safer for both sides.
- Move your USDT to the exchange on a network it supports, with a small test transfer first.
- Post a sell ad or pick a buyer with many completed orders and a high completion rate.
- Check your JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank app for the exact amount from the buyer's own name, then release.
Buying USDT in Pakistan
Buying works the same way in reverse: you pay the seller through JazzCash, Easypaisa or the bank and the platform releases USDT from escrow. Never pay outside the platform and never mark an order as paid before you actually pay. Fees are mostly in the price, so compare the effective rate, not the advertised one.
Risks to know
Release USDT only when the rupees are in your own account. Screenshots, SMS and "transfer in process" messages prove nothing.
- Third-party payments: money from a name that is not the buyer's can be stolen and reversed later.
- Account blocks: banks may ask questions about many small incoming transfers; keep records of each trade.
- Fake "earning apps" that sell USDT tasks and ask for a deposit to withdraw. Real apps never ask for one.
- WhatsApp dealers who offer a better rate outside the platform remove all protection.
The law in 2026
Crypto is not legal tender in Pakistan, and the State Bank has long told banks not to deal in it directly. In 2025 the government changed course: it set up the Pakistan Crypto Council and, by ordinance, the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) to license exchanges and service providers. As of October 2026 licensing is still being rolled out, so the situation is in transition. Gains can be taxable; check the FBR and the regulator's announcements before larger trades.
