How to withdraw USDT to a bank account
How to withdraw USDT to a bank account or mobile money: you cannot send USDT to a bank directly. You first sell it for your currency, on an exchange or to a person on a P2P market, and then withdraw the money. This guide shows both routes, moving USDT from Trust Wallet or a TON wallet to an exchange, the fees, and what to do if a withdrawal gets stuck.
Two routes to your bank
| Route | Money comes from | Main risk |
|---|---|---|
| Sell on the exchange, withdraw currency | The exchange | Fees, limits, availability in your country |
| Sell on P2P to a person | The buyer's account | Fake payments, stolen money, reversals |
Route 1: sell on an exchange
- Deposit USDT to the exchange on a supported network.
- Sell USDT for your currency on the market or with "sell".
- Withdraw to your bank, card or mobile money, as offered in your country.
This is the safest route because the money comes from a regulated company, not from a stranger.
Route 2: sell on P2P
- Post a sell ad or choose a buyer with many completed trades.
- The platform locks your USDT in escrow.
- The buyer pays to your bank or wallet.
- You check the money in your own banking app, matching the buyer's verified name.
- You release the USDT.
Release only after the money is in your account. Screenshots, SMS and "pending" messages are the tools of P2P fraud.
From Trust Wallet or a TON wallet
Self-custody wallets cannot pay out to banks. Send the USDT to an exchange first:
- On the exchange, open "deposit", choose USDT and the network that matches your wallet (for a TON wallet, choose TON).
- Copy the address and, if shown, the memo.
- In the wallet, send a small test amount to that address.
- When it arrives, send the rest and continue with route 1 or 2.
Withdrawal stuck or missing
- Wrong network: contact the receiving platform's support with the transaction hash; some can recover it for a fee.
- Missing memo: the same; support needs the hash and the memo you should have used.
- Travel Rule check: some exchanges hold deposits until you confirm the wallet is yours.
- Bank delay: local transfers can take from minutes to a working day.
Tax and records
In many countries selling crypto is a taxable event. Keep the dates, amounts and prices. Country rules: is crypto legal, country by country. Local cash-out guides: Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa.
